In August 2016, AAMA published the joint document, FMA/AAMA/WDMA 500-16 “Standard Practice for the Installation of Mounting Flange Windows into Walls Utilizing Foam Plastic Insulating Sheathing (FPIS) with a Separate Water-Resistive Barrier (WRB).”
The joint committee of the FMA/AAMA/WDMA recommends the use of a ROESE (Rough Opening Extension Support Element) in 2 out of 3 methods when installing windows with rigid foam.
